How To Build A Nok Hockey Table? [Expert Guide!]

Sharing is Caring

Nok Inc. is a relatively new company on the block that has created a whole new category of backyard game tables with their innovative NHL® Series. Being a huge hockey fan myself, I was immediately attracted to their products and had to learn more about how they came up with a design that is both functional and beautiful.

Hockey On Ice

One of the best things about hockey is being able to take it outdoors. Being a cold-weather sport, ice hockey can be played almost anywhere, and the general layout of a backyard rink enables you to fully enjoy the game in all its forms. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, there is something fun and accessible about learning how to play on ice.

The key to building a quality outdoor rink is by using the proper equipment and ensuring that you have everything prepared beforehand. Like any other sport, ice hockey is a very versatile game and can be played in many different ways. So I decided to approach this project thinking about how I would like to play tennis outdoors or how I would like to have fun with my kids on a hot summer day.

An Evolutionary Step Forward

I’m going to assume that if you’re reading this, you’re either a fan of the game yourself or someone that knows one; either way, you’re in the right place. If you’ve never heard of Nok hockey tables, let me introduce you to the unique world of inline hockey gaming.

Inline hockey, also known as puck hockey or field hockey, is a fast-paced version of the sport that was first developed in the 1960s. Similar to ice hockey, the objective is to score goals by making beautiful moves with a hockey puck. However, in inline hockey, the puck is much smaller and more agile, making it easier to control and more exciting to watch.

To get into position to play, you’ll need a bank of at least four walls to form a square or rectangular arena. The length of the rink will depend on how many people you have playing, with the standard length being 40 feet (12.2 meters) for two players and 50 feet (15.2 meters) for four players. If you’re preparing for a tournament, consider building a larger arena to make things easier for everyone involved (particularly for you as the organizer).

A Sport For All Ages

While hockey is generally considered to be a sport for adults, that’s not necessarily the case. The evolution of the game has led to a variety of different versions that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The newest addition to the NHL® lineup is the Junior League, which is designed for young children. It features a smaller puck and softer materials, so even the smallest players can have fun and develop their confidence while playing.

Hockey was once seen as a sport only for men, but that’s changed as the community has changed; women are playing and enjoying the game more than ever before. If you’ve got a lady in your life that enjoys hockey as much as I do, you can find a variety of fantastic gift ideas for them on this year’s Christmas shopping list.

A Game For All Seasons

Hockey is a game that can be enjoyed year-round, not just during the winter months. While it is generally considered to be a winter sport, you can find hockey rinks (also known as hockey pitches) and tournaments happening during the summer as well. If you live somewhere cold, you can also play on ice during the winter months and take advantage of the warming rays of the sun in the summer.

As a fan of the game myself, I often find myself thinking up fun ways to play during the off-season. One of the great things about hockey is its versatility, which is why it can be played during any season or weather condition. If you’ve got a place where you can safely play in the snow and don’t feel like venturing outdoors during the cold months, you can find a variety of enjoyable ways to enjoy the game indoors.
