Hockey fans have a new channel to enjoy hockey games. Called the Bruins Sports Network, the channel will feature a lot of the Boston Bruins games along with some other sports. The channel’s weekly schedule and star athletes make it a must-see for hockey fans. Here’s more information about the channel and the Boston Bruins.
The Channel Name
Bruins Sports Network is a nod to the Boston Bruins’ Stanley Cup victory in 2019 and the number of athletes on the team. The sports channel will mainly show the Boston Bruins, but it will also feature some NHL and NFAH games. Programming schedules and star athlete involvement will make this channel an exciting addition to sports fans’ hockey fan channels.
Frequency & Schedule
Bruins Sports Network is part of the NBC Sports Network family and will be officially launched on Thursday, January 22, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The channel will be available to all NHL and NFAH fans in the United States on Spectrum, Cablevision, and AT&T U-verse.
The channel’s first weekly schedule is as follows:
- 13 Thursdays: Regular Season Games (7:00-8:00 p.m.)
- 19 Thursdays: Postseason Games (8:00-10:00 p.m.)
- 1 Saturday: Preseason Game (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
The channel will also air some MLB, NBA, and NHL games, as well as soccer, American football, and basketball tournaments, as noted above. There are no details yet about what other sports will be featured on the channel, but it sounds like a great addition for hockey fans and sports fans in general.
The cost for Bruins Sports Network will be $14.99/mo. plus tax for NHL fans and $11.99/mo. plus tax for NFAH fans. This price includes all sports, including the NFL and NBA. If you want to add more teams to your package, it will cost you $14.99/mo. plus tax for the first additional package and $11.99/mo. plus tax for each additional package. Prices do not include additional fees from Netflix or other apps used on Cablevision and Spectrum. These are the standard fees each user is charged.
With the Bruins currently in the postseason, it’s the perfect time to add this channel. Many hockey fans already know the Boston Bruins are talented and exciting to watch. Seeing them play live is one of the best experiences, but now fans have the opportunity to see the games on a bigger screen than usual. It will be exciting to see how many people this channel attracts.
The channel’s star players include a mix of veteran free agents and exciting young players the organization can develop over time. Seeing some of these players on TV will no doubt get fans more excited about the Boston Bruins than ever before.
This channel is a much-needed addition for hockey fans in the U.S. Many outlets carrying hockey games, like NBC, have sports networks for the other major sports, but not hockey. Hopefully, by carrying hockey on their channel, Comcast, Spectrum, and Cablevision will be able to make more hockey fans across the country aware of the Boston Bruins, their games, and most importantly, the potential to grow their fan base.
